Today I have a day off! So instead of doing things that need to be done (What's that? You're supposed to pack before the day you move?) I made a masterpost.

Title: Ubi Sunt
Author: lymricks
Artist: viennajones
Pairings/characters: Arthur/Merlin, background Gwen/Lancelot
Rating: R
Word Count: ~41,000
Warnings: Discussion of post-injury depression
Summary: It could only be described as a freak accident: career ending and without cause. For months after Merlin Emrys and his horse, The Fisher King, hit the ground, analysts and the press would all ask the same question—what went wrong? One moment, Merlin and the Fisher King were proving themselves to be every inch the rumored champions they were, and the next, they were on the ground. The Fisher King got up, but Merlin stayed down. Two years after the accident, and twenty months since the equestrian world has so much as seen Merlin’s face, Merlin meets Arthur Pendragon, another champion recovering from a career crippling (but not ending) accident eerily similar to Merlin’s own. And much to Merlin’s chagrin, an old lesson horse—who Merlin’s students call The Great Dragon—has just started talking.
Author's notes: Oh god. I have been so so so lucky with this. My first thank you goes to mintleafed, who beta’d this, held my hand, and went to see The Hunger Games with me, even though I wanted to go at 3pm and she’d already seen it. She is the absolute best, and I literally could not have done this without her patience and enthusiasm (and she probably doesn’t know how much she helped, but trust me love, you helped so much, thank you thank you thank you thank you!!). And second, to my artist viennajones who displayed infinite patience as I sucked, and sucked, and sucked, and sucked. Thank you for picking my story! And for helping me out! And for putting up with me, because I can only imagine how difficult I must have seemed after the tenth time I didn’t answer your email for two weeks. You’re the absolute best, and you created such beautiful art for my story, that I’m still a little bit disbelieving that you actually did this based off something I wrote. You’re the bomb. And of course, a thousand, undying thank yous to the_muppet for being the best, every time, and always.

Disclaimer: These are not my characters, and Gwaine and Percival are not actually horses.

“Where is the horse gone? Where the rider? Where are the seats at the feast? Where are the revels in the hall? Alas for the bright cup! Alas for the mailed warrior! Alas for the splendour of the prince! How that time has passed away, dark under the cover of night, as if it had never been!”
